The Course Director has worked in the close protection industry for the last twenty seven years and was employed by Mohamed al Fayed as his bodyguard, bodyguard for members of his family and a manger of 20 close protection and residential security team members world wide for 24 years and has since worked for Russian Oligarchs and multi-millionaire businessmen .
The course director has taught all forms of response to attack strategies, drills and techniques to over 500 bodyguards working on low to high risk contracts.
While serving in the military the Course Director instructed close quarter combat techniques to troops going up against Russian Spetsnaz Special Forces.
The Course Director is a graduate of the Professional Bodyguard Association and Dean Training and has been involved in close quarter combat since 1978, teaching civilian, close protection, military and law enforcement personnel.
The Course Director is an Ex-Military Close Quarter Combat Instructor, holds black-belts in various fighting systems, is a Registered Self Protection Instructor with the British Combat Association, an Instructor with the Self Defence Federation and is an ABA Assistant Boxing Coach.

Active in Iraq 2003-2005 commanding a PSD team in Baghdad, training local Iraqi close protection teams and ran the security for an Iraqi telecom call centre and training the guard force.
Instructor 2 has 14 years service with the Royal Marine Commandos and is an experienced instructor teaching marine recruits, weapons and tactics. Instructor 2 served as a reconnaissance troop sniper and special weapons escort with Comacchio Group.
Instructor 2 is a graduate of the Professional Bodyguard Association. Alongside his role as an instructor on the VIPA Tactical Training Courses instructor 2 is a qualified first aid instructor and assessor and is employed as an operation close protection officer.
