Paul 'Rock' Higgins CAS Course Director
The Course Director has worked in the close protection industry for the last eighteen years and has been employed as a close protection officer for an international businessman and his family since 1992.
The course director has taught all forms of response to attack strategies, drills and techniques to over 300 bodyguards working on low to high risk contracts.
While serving in the military the Course Director instructed close quarter combat techniques to troops going up against Russian Spetsnaz Special Forces.
The Course Director is a graduate of the Professional Bodyguard Association and has been involved in close quarter combat since 1978, teaching civilian, close protection, military and law enforcement personnel.
The Course Director is an Ex-Military Close Quarter Combat Instructor, holds blackbelts in various fighting systems, is a Registered Self Protection Instructor with the British Combat Association, an Instructor with the Self Defence Federation and is an ABA Assistant Boxing Coach.
Instructor 1
Instructing on the 5 day Reaction to Attack Course and the Customized Courses .
Proven anti-terrorist bodyguard, close protection instructor and security consultant. In 2006-2007 Instructor 1 provided UK protective duties for foreign Royals and international businessmen. Active in Saudi Arabia in 2005 implementing and running close protection courses and active in Iraq 2003 - 2005 providing protecton for US Ambassadors, 2 & 3 Star Generals and international businesses. Instructor 1 is a graduate of the Royal Military Polie Close Protection Wing and while serving in the military provided protection for British Royalty and high ranking officers. Alongside his role as an instructor for the VIPA Tactical Training Courses Instructor 1 is the Managing Director of a successful operational close protection company.
Instructor 2
Instructing on the 5 day Reaction to Attack Course and the Customized Courses.
Active in Iraq 2003-2005 commanding a PSD team in Baghdad, training local Iraqi close protection teams and ran the security for an Iraqi telecom call centre and training the guard force.
Instructor 2 has 14 years service with the Royal Marine Commandos and is an experienced instructor teaching marine recruits, weapons and tactics. Instructor 2 served as a reconnaissance troop sniper and special weapons escort with Comacchio Group.
Instructor 2 is a graduate of the Professional Bodyguard Association. Alongside his role as an instructor on the VIPA Tactical Training Courses instructor 2 is a qualified first aid instructor and assessor and is employed as an operation close protection officer.
Instructor 3
Instructing on all courses.
Instructor 3 has been involved in self protection along with other forms the martial arts for over 25 years and holds a 4th Dan in Aikido.
Instructor 3 has worked as a close protection officer for the past twelve years and has been involved both operationaly and with the training of VIP close protection and PSD security teams primarily in Russia and the Middle East.
In the UK and Europe instructor 3 has been operational as part of various close protection teams and as an individual bodyguard for foriegn Royalty.
As well as instructing on the VIPA Tactical Training Courses Instructor 3 is also the Managing Director of a successful operational close protection company.
Instructor 3 is a graduate of the Task Close Protection Course
